Auto-Launched Tournaments Explained

Auto-Launched Tournaments Explained

Automated tournaments are tournaments that Trading Blitz creates on its own — no organizer required. When enough eligible players are active on the platform at the same time, the system opens a waiting room, notifies players, and launches the tournament automatically.

How the System Decides to Launch One

When enough eligible online players are online and not already active in a tournament or challenge match, the platform creates a new automated tournament and opens a waiting room. The tournament is named sequentially — Trading Blitz 1, Trading Blitz 2, and so on.

Only one automated tournament can be open at a time. If an automated tournament is already in progress or waiting to fill, the system will not create another one until that tournament concludes.

How You Get Notified

When an automated tournament is created, eligible players who are currently online receive a real-time toast notification in the app. The notification includes the tournament name and a link to join the waiting room. Players who have turned off tournament notifications will not receive the toast.

To make sure you never miss an automated tournament, keep tournament notifications enabled in Settings → Notifications.

You'll also see a Live notification in the navigation menu indicating that a tournament is waiting to be seeded or is currently live

Joining the Waiting Room

Clicking the notification takes you to the tournament waiting room. The waiting room has a countdown timer — typically a couple of minutes — during which players can join. You can see how many other players have registered and watch the count update in real time.

You can also find the open waiting room at tradingblitz.com/tournaments under the "Open" section.

When you join the tournament, you'll enter the waiting room (shown below)

What Happens When the Timer Runs Out

When the waiting room timer expires, the platform evaluates how many players registered and selects the appropriate bracket size — 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, or 256 players, whichever fits the registration count. Players who registered earliest get bracket spots if there are more registrants than the bracket holds. Players are then randomly seeded, and Round 1 match invitations are sent automatically.

If fewer than 4 players registered when the timer expires, the tournament is cancelled and players are notified.

If You Miss the Waiting Room

Once a tournament has started and the bracket is full, it is not possible to join. If you arrive at the waiting room page after the tournament has already begun and you were not seeded into the bracket, you will be redirected to the Tournaments page. Another automated tournament will open when conditions are met again.

Automated tournaments are always free to enter. No entry fee, no wager between tournament players.
